Make your kid’s Easter more Egg-citing!
For parents who haven’t decided yet on what to do or where to go to celebrate Easter, Shop Talk on ANC gave interesting suggestions to amuse their kids.
A pirate-themed Easter Party
The theme for Power Plant Mall's Easter Sunday celebration is 'Pirates.'
Rockwell Land Retail’s Marketing Associate Sam Buendia said they were learned from the Halloween-themed events last year that more kids are drawn to wearing pirate costumes.
“Powerplant Mall is a family mall so we want to continually cater to the children. So this Easter, this is one of those events,” Buendia said.
In store will be a musical play, jugglers dressed as pirates, Lego-making contest by Build City, a yoyo demo show by Flip Spin, and a Peter Pan production by Rockwell Club, the mall’s production association that caters to the Rockwell community.
The Mad Science show will also delight the inquisitive minds of whiz kids. Quizzes during the science show will be related to the Pirate-cum-Peter Pan theme. Air pressure and flying will be included.
“They will be bringing in a hovercraft wherein this will be lifted and kids will be able to ride on this onstage,” Buendia revealed.
The P500 entrance fee is good for one parent and a kid below 12 years of age. Program starts from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A cosmopolitan getaway
For an ultimate Easter escapade, Pan Pacific Hotel also prepared a treat. The deluxe hotel will offer a sophisticated butler service, which can grant wishes--both those petty and nice.
Pan Pacific Hotel’s marketing communications manager Kathy Manuel said the buttler service is "a full service from the time you check in. He brings you to your room. He can also unpack or pack your things."
The hotel is offering an Easter Indulgence room promo, which includes a full buffet breakfast at the Pacific Lounge at the 21st floor.
The sunset barbecue, which is normally offered on a Friday, is extending its operations from Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday. Price starts at P4,500
Pan Pacific Hotel also prepared a ventriloquist, a puppet show, a magic show, activities like face painting and clay painting to make the holiday getaway enjoyable for kids.
A fun Easter straight from your home
For those planning to celebrate Easter at home, parents may want to map out their kid’s activities. Hopefully, these include crafts.
Em Mariano, owner of Fundynamics showed how to make an Easter-inspired decoupage--the art of decorating an object by gluing together paper cut-outs onto it. This activity is said to enhance children’s creativity.
Creating a decoupage can means making one's own accessory to decorating a child’s room. Mariano said this could also be a good additional income for moms and a way to de-stress from work.
“It’s a therapy. Others are really not into this kind of industry but they only want to have time for themselves,” Mariano said.
