Suzuki unveils new Swift
MANILA, Philippines - Suzuki Philippines has unveiled a new version of its sporty Suzuki Swift.
Priced at P730,000 for manual transmission and P770,000 for automatic transmission, the redesigned Swift strikes a balance between power and fuel efficiency. It's powered by a 1,500 cc DOHC 16-valve VVT engine that delivers as much as 110 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute.
Designed as a "sporty compact car," the new Suzuki Swift features an aerodynamic and distinctive silhouette as well as multi-reflector halogen headlamps, front foglamps and tires mounted on 15-inch alloy wheels.
It also boasts of McPherson strut front suspensions and torsion beam rear suspensions and power-assisted steering to make driving in tight city streets a breeze.
"The young urbanite will delight in the comfort and convenience features of the Suzuki Swift, which add to its cachet as a sporty compact car. Power windows, power side mirrors, a pollen filter, keyless entry, and an integrated audio system with in-dash CD, MP3, auxiliary port and 6-speakers come standard in this sporty compact car," Suzuki Philippines said in a statement.
The Suzuki Swift debuted in the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) in 2005, and has since enjoyed several winning moments. In 2006, the Swift won 5 out of 9 events, and was rated as the best in the Super 1600 category.
