Mezza Norte moves to Trinoma
The night food market Mezza Norte is moving to Trinoma starting on May 3.
Since it opened in July last year, Mezza Norte, from the same organizers behind Midnight Mercato at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig and Cucina Andare in Glorietta Park, Makati, has been operating on weekends at the University of the Philippines-Ayala Land Technohub. It features home-cooked food, pastry and dessert finds from the kitchens of Quezon City, as well as popular Mercato Centrale food vendors!
Mezza Norte is now located at the Mindanao Open Parking lot of Trinoma, at the corner of Mindanao Avenue and North Avenue, Quezon City. It will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Chateau 1771 marks 25th year
Chateau 1771 in Greenbelt 5 marks its 25th anniversary with two special treats from May 18-31.
The restaurant offers two popular dishes with a glass of wine for P990 net, available during dinner only. The first course is the restaurant's Raclette, melted Swiss cheese with marbled potatoes, pickled onions and gherkins, which is a favorite among its diners for over two decades. The main course, Potence, is a juicy, flavorful steak presented to the diner flambéed. The beef is seasoned, dressed in its natural juices then whisked with some brandy.
Chef Vicky Pacheco has also prepared a degustation menu highlighting Chateau’s signature dishes, especially prepared for Hotel and Restaurant Management students and 2013 HRIM graduates. The degustation is offered for every group of four at P550 net each from 2-5 p.m. and includes French Onion Soup, Caesar Salad, Pasta Chorizo, Lemon Chicken, Potence and Coffee Pie. Hyatt cuts price of weekday buffet
Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila’s interactive restaurant, the Market Café, offers a special price for its buffet until June 30. From Monday to Thursday, the buffet can be enjoyed for a special price of P990 net per person for lunch and P1,099 net per person for dinner inclusive of free-flowing soft drinks and local beer.
Featured dishes include a variety of appetizers and salads, premium cuts of lamb and beef, fresh or baked oysters, salmon, oven-baked pizzas, pastas, sushi and sashimi, freshly made tempura and a selection of homemade ice cream and desserts.
FOOD mag celebrates summer with barbecues
FOOD magazine’s May issue is dedicated to “Best Grill Grub,” a special feature on top picks for steaks, ribs, beers, burritos, burgers, wings, and other food finds and places, plus grilled dishes created by Chef Ed Bugia of Pino. Readers will also get ideas for how to satisfy their taste buds on road trips, family nights, game nights, or even date nights.
The issue’s monthly food tour visits both old favorites and new places in the summer capital of Baguio. There is also a special feature on “gourmet” camping.
