MANILA, Philippines – She may not have bared as much as recent men’s magazine cover girls but actress Marian Rivera drew raves nonetheless for her cover for the June issue of Rogue.
Rivera appears on the cover of the magazine’s annual “State of the Nation” issue in what seems like a throwback to the vaudeville days. She is seen wearing a beige corset and a black fur stole, strategically draped to make it appear that she isn’t wearing anything else.
The actress was styled by Pam Quinones for the shoot with ace lensman Marc Nicdao. Raymond Santiago did her hair, which featured a feather headdress, while Robbie Piñera did her makeup.
Both celebrities and Rogue readers lauded the cover photo.
“Loving that fur, baby. Roarrrr,” fashion designer Rajo Laurel wrote on Rogue’s Facebook page.
Talent manager GR Rodis tweeted, “Marian Rivera beautiful Rogue cover!”
“Say what you want but she photographs really well. Compared to other cover girls, she's one of the less Photoshopped models,” commented Rogue reader Rain Escudero on the magazine’s Facebook page.
“I’m not a Marian Rivera fan. But this cover is wonderful,” said Franis William Pedro Cagayat on Facebook.
Rogue, which said the magazine will be out on newsstands on June 6, also announced a surprise treat for the covery story – an interview by Raymond Ang with both the actress and her Twitter alter ego, Superstar Marian.
“What a trip,” said events organizer and host Tim Yap of the double-interview.
“Ganda,” said Saab Magalona on Twitter.
Superstar Marian immediately promoted the magazine to her Twitter followers.
“Sa mga nagsasabeng mga ingleserang gels lng ang pedeng cober ng Rogue Magasin, etong sa inyo! PAK!” she said.
