MANILA, Philippines - (UPDATE) After Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was proclaimed 15th president of the Republic of the Philippines, he occupied the 2nd slot on topics trending on Yahoo worldwide.

That means Internet users have been typing his name on the popular search engine so much that he was included in the top 10 list of searches for June 9, 2010.

Aquino was proclaimed president Wednesday at a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives. Makati mayor Jejomar Binay was declared winner of the vice-presidential race.
