Paint the house... blue?

BAGUIO CITY - As if blue paint on its facade wasn't enough, one Baguio resident was hell-bent on filling her house with everything at least slightly related to the color blue.

Julie Torres- Juquiana, a resident of Pacdal in Baguio City, is the proud owner of a unique "blue collection" featured within her "blue house." The house, located along Siapno Road, has everything from blue chinese figurines to blue jars, and blue kitchen sets to blue mirrors.

"I chose blue because, if blue is the color of sadness for others, this gives peace to our family," said Juquiana, a mother of five daughters.

While some would opt for orange, Juquiana believes the color blue in her kitchen sets increases the family's appetite. Though most attribute romance to the color red, she also believes that their blue-walled master's bedroom keeps her marriage spicy.

Far from alarmed at their surroundings, her husband and daughters are reportedly resigned with Juquiana's quirks. "She's really a different kind of mom," said one of her daughters, Jheremea.

Juquiana had previously made the headlines in local newspapers for her Christmas collection. She likes to display hundreds of Santa statues, from dancing Santas to ones that play Christmas tunes, in time for the Yuletide season. Report from Philip Erpelo, ABS-CBN Northern Luzon.
