MANILA, Philippines - A day after Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was sworn in as 15th President of the Philippines, the new President's name makes it to the Yahoo top 10 trending topics worldwide.

"Benigno Aquino" is at the 9th spot on the Yahoo list as of 12:54 p.m. on July 1.

Aquino's inauguration has been widely covered by media and discussed in social media networks.

On June 30, Aquino's name topped the Twitter trending list as the new President was delivering his inaugural speech. (See story here).

His name stayed on top of the list even well into the night.

On Google, Aquino was apparently also a widely searched term on June 30 as the new President's name topped the list of Google searches in the country among keywords related to the inauguration.
