Celebrating creativity with shoes
MANILA, Philippines – Sneaker brand Converse encouraged students nationwide to explore their untapped artistic bent by designing old shoes.
With their original Chuck Taylor shoes as their canvas, high school and college students created masterpieces at Converse's "Create Spark or Spark Creativity" event held on Saturday at Cubao's Araneta Center.

Margarita Go, president of Converse Philippines, noted that they have been holding this event for 2 years.
This display of creativity, the use of various materials such as outsoles and shoe boxes -- is said to be a first in the Asia Pacific region.
Aside from art, music was part of the occasion as Converse as bands such as Callalily, Soapdish, Pedicab and Sugarfree did live performances throughout the day.
