Coming soon: 3D video game with catechism
MANILA, Philippines - Parents worrying about their children's video game playing habit may reconsider their stand. A new 3D video game for kids with "catechetical value" will be launched by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Friday, July 9.
The CBCP's Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education (ECCCE) will unveil the game at a press conference at the CBCP Media Office in Intramuros, Manila.
The game, called "Paolo's Journey", was made by CBCP and is available for PC and Mac users.
Fr. Maximo Villanueva, Jr. of the Balanga diocese developed the game. He studied computer animation at the New York Film Academy in New York City.
The CBCP said the video game was created in coordination with the Studio of Secret6, Inc.
ECCCE chairman Archbishop Socrates Villegas and Christian Victor Arellano of Studio of Secret6, Inc. will be at the launch.
