Marc Logan shares secret behind dramatic weight loss
MANILA, Philippines - Broadcast journalist and funnyman Marc Logan explained Tuesday how he lost 100 lbs in over a year.
In the premiere episode of his new DZMM show "Logan Live!", Logan said he went on a crash diet after his weight ballooned to 240 lbs.
"Medyo natakot din ako talaga. I had to go on a crash diet. I took something para mabilis yung weight loss. Medyo sumobra siya and now I am recovering and OK na ang aking diet ngayon," he told a caller.
He later clarified with ABS-CBNnews.com that he tipped the scales at 240 lbs and was warned by doctors that he might contract diabetes.

Logan said one reason for his weight gain was the demands of the job. He said he was often invited to cover fiestas as host of the ABS-CBN News segment "Mga Kuwento ni Marc Logan."
"Wala akong choice because I was doing the rounds sa buong bansa, covering fiestas. Festival king ako sa TV noon. Para maimbita ka sa ibat-ibang lugar, kailangan matikman mo ang mga specialty nila. So sa isang lugar na pupuntahan mo, halos gumapang ka na sa sobrang kabusugan. Ganun ang mga Pilipino ka-hospitable. Yun na nga, lumaki tayo at lumobo at kailangang magbawas," he said.
To lose weight, Logan said he "made a career" out of cutting out carbs and eating only vegetables and fish. "Lahat na yata ng isda natikman ko. Yung dory, ok yun," he said.
He also took a Chinese herbal supplement that made him lose weight faster.
His discipline in his eating habits paid off. From a high of 240 lbs, Logan said he reached a record low of 142 lbs in just a year and a half.
He said his blood pressure and sugar levels are normal, based on results of the company's annual physical exam.
"I used to be 'masa' - masandal lang sa pader, tulog. Now, I can work nights because I have so much energy," he said.
He said he has now gained a little weight but is still eating healthy. He recently tipped the scales at over 160 lbs.
Logan's segment "Mga Kuwento ni Marc Logan" is a regular fixture in ABS-CBN's TV Patrol.
His new radio show "Logan Live!" on radio dzMM is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 1 a.m.-4 a.m.
