MANILA, Philippines - Filipino boxing champ and now Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. hogged the Google searches of netizens in the Philippines for the week of July 16-22, according to Google Zeitgeist.

This is due to the news that Pacquiao lauded Mayweather Jr. for being named the Best Fighter in the 2010 Excellence in Sports Performance of the Year (ESPY) Awards.

Mayweather, on the other hand, turned up in a lot of Google searches as Filipinos constantly checked the news websites for reports on whether the boxer agreed to fight Pacquiao this year. Mayweather missed the deadline imposed by Pacquiao's camp.

With President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III all set to deliver his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 26, Pinoys have been Googling him more often this past week.

And with Charice's Botox and Thermage treatments making it to the international news, Charice figured as well in the fastest rising newsmakers list for July 16-22.
