'The Voice' Belgium coach rocks Palladium dance club
Quentin Mosimann recently shared his award-winning DJ skills during his first performance in Manila.
I visited Palladium at New World Hotel Makati to check out the show and meet the DJ-singer who is a popular coach in Belgium's franchise of the hit TV show "The Voice".
Mosimann is a French-Swiss DJ singer, model and performer. He garnered the 74th spot in the worldwide ‘Top 100 DJs’ poll 2012.
He was also 5th Best French DJ (DJ Mag) and won Best DJ Dance 2011.

According to Mosimann, he has a very distinct performance style compared to other DJs. He is also known in Europe to be the first "DJ-singer". His unique performance combines live singing and playing instruments together with his DJ set.
"I'm not a regular DJ, I try to do something different. I sing, I play, I do drums. You really have to experience my act to know how it is," said Mosimann.

Mosimann said he was inspired to create a unique DJ-singer personality from his stint in reality shows such as "Star Academy" and "The Voice."
"I got my inspiration to elevate my DJ performance with vocal skills by being part of TV shows such as 'Star Academy,' which is a singing contest with more than 12 million people watching. And, of course, being a coach in 'The Voice Belgium' has helped me grow as an artist-producer," said Mossiman.

Mossiman was also a coach during the first two seasons of "The Voice Belgium."
"Being a coach of 'The Voice' changed my life. My team's artist even won the contest during the first season. I became very famous in Belgium because of the TV show. In fact, I can't perform in small clubs like this anymore over there," said Mosimann.

Mosimann believes that the success of "The Voice Philippines" is evident.
"From my experience as a coach, the format of 'The Voice' show is really meant for success. I think 'The Voice Philippines'' success is not surprising. I also heard Filipinos are known to be musically inclined and gifted," added Mosimann.
Meanwhile, the event at Palladium was filled with music fans and party people who loved Mosimann's solid energy.

Mosimann got the crowd on their feet when he started his set with a live drum solo accompanied by heavy progressive electronic beats.
Being a musician myself, I was actually impressed with his advanced drum skills.

One of my favorite songs in his set was his rendition of White Stripe's "Seven Nation Army" which he sang flawlessly.

Everyone who attended partied the night away as they enjoyed Mosimann's awesome performance. It was definitely one of the best DJ sets I've watched.
I also had a chance to enjoy hanging out with Pepper Teehankee and Vanessa Francisco inside their new Clubbing TV Ultra Lounge, which is located just above Palladium.
