MANILA, Philippines -- Lexus Manila recently revealed the next generation of their best-selling model, the all-new 2013 Lexus ES350 sedan. The ES is one of Lexus’ oldest model lines, launched alongside the flagship LS sedan when it began production in 1989.

For five generations, it has been based on the Toyota Camry, lavished with the brand’s fanatical attention to refinement, ride, paintwork and details to become a more upmarket offering.

For this sixth generation, the ES now shares its platform with the Toyota Avalon, manufactured in Toyota’s facility in Kyushu, Japan.

This has allowed the ES to grow in size, now measuring 4,895mm long and with a longer wheelbase at 2,822mm, making for more legroom for the rear passengers.

Over in the front, the ES features the new spindle grille, a key identifying element in the brand’s new official face which it shares with the other new models in the line-up.

Continuing the spindled theme is the addition of “L” shaped LEDs for the headlamps, a lower overall profile, cleaner styling lines and corners that have been pulled tightly inward to the wheel arches to create distinctive proportions.

Inside the vehicle, customers will be delighted by the careful selection of materials like deep wood trim, brushed metals, black leather and beige all used to deliver a premium feel.

Standard high tech equipment like steering wheel remote controls, cruise control, a multi-information display system and a premium audio system with USB/iPod compatibility and Bluetooth are integrated neatly into the new dashboard.

Seat heaters and many other power features, along with the extended rear legroom and headroom should appeal to those that intend to be driven in the vehicle.

Propelling the new ES350 is a 3.5 liter V6 Dual VVT-i engine paired with 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 277 PS and 346 Newton meters of torque.

As for safety, the Lexus features stability control with ABS, EBD and brake assist, whiplash-injury-lessening features and up to 10 airbags all fitted as standard.

The ES350 will be sold as the sole variant of the ES, available in pearl white, silver, grey and black. It will
be priced at P3,338,000.
