ABS-CBN News’ music video to get a sequel?
MANILA, Philippines – “Bandila” anchors Julius Babao, Karen Davila and Boy Abunda hinted at a sequel to the amateur music video of “I Want It That Way” featuring some of ABS-CBN’s broadcast journalists.
The three said their co-anchor on “Bandila,” Ces Drilon, will be included in Part 2 of the music video, which has gone viral on YouTube and social networking sites.
“Abangan niyo po ‘yung solo ni Ces Drilon,” said Babao.
To which Drilon replied, “Kailangan kong umisip ng mga eksena na tatalbog doon,” referring to the sexy and wacky scenes of Gretchen Fullido and Korina Sanchez, respectively.
“Nag-iisip pa ako ng paraan,” she added in jest.
Filipino netizens have been looking for Drilon in the music video, which has set the Twitterverse on fire.
Because of the instant Internet hit, “I Want It That Way” made it to the top trending local topics on Twitter on Tuesday morning.
The viral video has also been aired on ABS-CBN’s radio and TV newscasts.
Below are some of their tweets:
“Must watch! Voted best video of the year,” said Aurora Pijuan.
“I never wanna hear you say… I want it that way… I blame all those reporters. This song is stuck in my head!” said Kat de Castro, daughter of “TV Patrol” anchor Noli de Castro, who is also included in the video.
“Sumakit cheeks ko kakatawa,” said Miss Chesel.
“Just saw the I Want It That Way video by ABS-CBN anchors and news team, ‘yun pala ang ginagawa nila during commercial breaks,” said Maureen Braga.
Others said they developed a crush on some of the journalists in the video, particularly Atom Araullo.
Abunda, meanwhile, said he wants a “retake” of the music video to top the funny scenes of some reporters and anchors.
Uploaded on ABS-CBNnews.com on Monday night, the amateur music video of “I Want It That Way” got the seal of approval of news head Ging Reyes, who also shared it on Twitter.
The video was produced by ABS-CBN TV reporters Jeff Canoy, Jenny Reyes and Chiara Zambrano.
