Grand Kapamilya Weekend kicks off October 5
MANILA -- A grand two-day celebration of the 60th anniversary of Philippine television will be held in Quezon City next month.
ABS-CBN is holding the Grand Kapamilya Weekend at Quezon City Memorial Circle on October 5 and 6, with several activities and programs scheduled from early morning to late evening.
On October 5, Saturday, "Salamat Dok" will hold a live show at the venue at 6:30 a.m. The formal opening of the "Kapamilya Village" will follow at 9:00 a.m.
To be held simultaneously starting 10:00 a.m. are the Kapamilya Bazaar, the News & Current Affairs and Star Magic Soup Kitchen, the TLC Story-Telling session, and DZMM's Medical Mission.
"It's Showtime" will also hold its live telecast at Quezon City Memorial Circle at 12 noon, followed by the Star Magic & ABS-CBN Sports Exhibition Game at 4:00 p.m. and the Star Cinema Outdoor Screening at 5:30 p.m.
The late-night festivities will start at 9:00 p.m. with the MOR Concert, which will last until 12 midnight.
The celebration starts early on October 6, Sunday, with One Run, One Philippines opening at 4:00 a.m. The four-hour event will lead in to the Kapamilya Bazaar, which opens 10:00 a.m. and closes at midnight.
Fans will be treated to an all-star concert on the same day, with "ASAP" holding its live show at the venue from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m.
The sporting event featuring Star Magic talents will then resume at 4:00 p.m., with the Kapamilya KTV opening two hours later.
