MANILA, Philippines - If Sean Kingston were to sing his love for dogs, he probably would've said his canine pal is "way too beautiful," so a life in chains "will never work."

The 20-year-old reggae fusion artist singer, known for hits such as Beautiful Girls and Eenie Meenie, has teamed up with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia for an advertisement that highlights the plight of chained dogs.

Kingston shares how dogs have enriched his life. He currently has 2 canine pals -- Stella (the dog in the ad) and Sunshine.

"My new dog, Sunshine -- there's been, like, a huge chemistry between me and her. So I definitely would say [having her] in the studio...makes it a better vibe," the singer said, adding that he would never leave his canine pals chained up outside his home.

According to PETA, dogs who spend their lives alone at the end of a chain or inside a cage ache for companionship, and may make them fearful or aggressive.

"They endure all weather extremes -- from torrential downpour to sweltering heat -- often without receiving adequate food, water or veterinary care," PETA said in a statement.

PETA launched Kingston's ad in the Philippines to coincide with the reggae fusion artist's concert in Manila on September 18.

Titled Supafest Manila 2010, the concert will feature Kingston, Flo Rida, T-Pain and Kelly Rowland.

Aside from Kingston, other celebrities who have teamed up with PETA to help animals include Lea Michele of Glee, Twilight series actor Christian Serratos, Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, and teen pop star Justin Bieber.
