Apl.de.ap, Noel Cabangon to sing for Zamboanga
MANILA – "The Voice of the Philippines" coach apl.de.ap and other musicians will perform in a concert at the Liwasang Aurora, Quezon City Memorial Circle on Saturday to call for a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Zamboanga.
Also performing on Saturday are Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel, Gloc-9, Joey Ayala, Lolita Carbon, Bayang Barrios, Slapshock, Brownman Revival, Jim Paredes, and other artists.
The performances will start at 3 p.m. and end at midnight.
“This is to show our support to our fellow Filipinos whose lives have been disrupted by the ongoing armed conflicts, especially in Zamboanga City,” Cabangon said.
“We recognize that we have a responsibility to help create positive changes one way or the other. And for us artists, our music is our instrument,” he added.
Saturday’s event, dubbed “A Nation Praying for Peace,” was organized by Urban Poor Associates, Women Engaged in Action, and Community of Sant’Egidio.
The event will be held in celebration of the International Day of Peace.
