VIRAL VIDEO: Timberlake, Fallon mock use of hashtags
MANILA – Television host Jimmy Fallon and his singer pal, Justin Timberlake, gave people an idea on how a Twitter conversation sounds like in real life.
In an episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” which was uploaded on YouTube, the two were seen talking to each other in hashtags, with both of them doing a double tap finger move for emphasis.
The video has gone viral on YouTube, with more than six million views as of writing. It has also been featured in several blogs and news websites.
“Hey look, I brought you some cookies. Hashtag homemade, hashtag oatmeal and raisin, hashtag show me the cookie,” Timberlake said.
Fallon replied, saying: “Sweet! Hashtag don’t mind if I don’t. It’s pretty good. Hashtag getting my cookie on. Hashtag I’m the real cookie monster. Hashtag nom nom nom nom nom nom.”
“Delicious, right?” Timberlake asked. “Hashtag I did it all for the cookie. Hashtag lololololololol.”
Social media giant Facebook recently adopted the iconic hashtag symbol (#) of Twitter, which can be used to find messages focused on themes or happenings of interest.
