Kenneth Cobonpue opens first Manila store
MANILA – Filipinos in Manila no longer have to go all the way to Cebu to take a look at Kenneth Cobonpue’s creations.
The award-winning industrial designer recently opened a showroom at The Residences at Greenbelt on Arnaiz Street in Makati, his first store in Metro Manila. It carries many of Cobonpue’s popular pieces such as the Bloom chair, which takes the shape of a flower.
The launch of Cobonpue’s Makati showroom was held in partnership with Metro Society magazine.
Some of the guests at the event included ABS-CBN Publishing president Ernie Lopez, Metro Society editor-in-chief Raul Manzano, ABS-CBN broadcast journalist Ces Oreña-Drilon, fashion designer Kate Torralba, artist Budji Layug, architect Royal Pineda and interior designer J. Anton Mendoza.
Also present at Cobonpue’s first Manila store were Ayala Land chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala and his wife, Kit.
Cobonpue’s creations, known for mixing comfort, style and organic materials, have been featured in several films abroad such as “Ocean’s Thirteen,” “Made of Honor” and “Spread.”
His pieces also made their way into the home of Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
