MANILA, Philippines – The official audio-visual presentation (AVP) of the Department of Tourism’s “It’s more fun in the Philippines” campaign has been relaunched after the agency did some “minor tweaks” on the original video.

The AVP was first uploaded on YouTube on Monday, but was pulled out hours later, as instructed by the Tourism Secretary.

The nearly three-minute video is almost the same as the original one, which highlighted the Philippines’ unique natural attractions such as the Mayon Volcano in Albay and the Chocolate Hills in Bohol.

The AVP had the same intro: “We’re a country named after a Spanish King. To which an American general vowed to return. Or as someone described our history, ‘300 years in a convent, and 50 years in Hollywood.’”

Also placed on the spotlight were the country’s several beaches led by Boracay, which was recently named by international travel magazine Travel + Leisure as the world’s best island.

The video also marketed the Philippines as a country filled with delicious food and fun fiestas at any day of the year.

The “It’s more fun in the Philippines” campaign has gone a long way from its social media success last January, where different versions of the slogan were posted by Internet users here and abroad.

Over the past months, the DOT spent millions of pesos promoting the slogan through travel expos and advertisements.
