MANILA - An ABS-CBN website is now offering fun-filled casual games for online users who want to take a break from the daily grind.

The ABS-CBN Kapamilya Games page (http://games.abs-cbn.com) offers popular casual games like Bejeweled 2, Bookworm Adventures, and Rocket Mania - all of which are said to relieve both mental and physical stress.

There are more than 30 downloadable trial versions of games like:

  • Bejeweled Twist (by Popcap) where users spin brightly-colored gems that explode when matched with other gems of the same kind. The aim is to match as many gems as possible in a limited amount of time.
  • Bookworm (by Popcap), a vocabulary challenge where users need to build strings of words to feed a hungry bookworm named Lex. Watch out for burning red tiles, though, because they'll set your library in flames.
  • Plants Vs. Zombies where the challenge is to stop zombies from invading your home through an arsenal of zombie-zapping plants like cherry bombs and peashooters. Online gamers need to "think fast and plant faster" to stop over 26 types of zombies in their tracks.
  • Peggle, a magical game where users have to clear orange pegs in 55 levels. Don't worry, you will have 10 teachers to guide you towards becoming a "Peggle Master."

Kapamilyas, who must register on the website to play, can also play web versions of these games like Chuzzle, Insaniquarium and Zuma right in their own web browser. Registration is free.

Full versions of the games can be purchased and downloaded for P99 each using the new Kapamilya Games Card (available at the Information Centers of SM Department Stores nationwide), electronic pins from PayPal, and through Load Central outlets.

These "deluxe" game versions can be installed on your computer and played even without an internet connection.

As the company's representatives said in a statement, "[It's] a great way to turn any dull and stressful moment at home or [in] the office into an enjoyable one."
