Mario Maurer awed by Ilocos Norte
MANILA, Philippines – Thai superstar Mario Maurer could not hide his awe over the beautiful scenery in Ilocos Norte where they shot some of the scenes for his upcoming movie “Suddenly It’s Magic” with Erich Gonzales.

“Ilocos is very nice. We went to a place where there’s what they call a windmill. The windmill is very beautiful. We got to ride a small horse. It was not comfortable but it’s very nice to have a small horse. I like the place, it’s very nice. Even in Ilocos, they have very old churches,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
In "Suddenly It’s Magic," Maurer portrays a Thai superstar named Marcus who flies to the Philippines to escape his busy career.
Here, Marcus crosses paths with Joey (Gonzales), a romantically jaded Filipina baker who is bound to spark "magic" in the boring life of the Thai celebrity.
Apart from the tourist sights, the Thai actor said gaining a new "family" in the Philippines is one of the best things that ever happened to him while he was in the country.
Maurer said he will never forget what “Suddenly It’s Magic” director Rory Quintos told him before they started filming the movie.
“On the first day, I spoke to direk. Direk told me ‘You know, here in the Philippines, when we work, we start like friends and when we finish, we become a family.’ I remember that words from the first day. When we finished the shooting, it’s really true what she told me. We became a family,” he related.
Maurer said he really missed the crew, especially his fellow actors, when their shooting was over.
According to Gonzales, the Star Cinema film will have a premiere screening on October 30 in Manila, where Maurer will be in attendance.
"Suddenly It's Magic" will hit theaters nationwide on October 31.
