Miss Japan wins Miss International 2012
MANILA, Philippines -- Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Japan was crowned Miss International 2012 in Okinawa, Japan on Sunday night.
Yoshimatsu, who was also named Miss Photogenic, bested 68 contestants, including the Philippines' Nicole Schmitz, who made it to the Top 15.
Finland's Vivii Suominen was first runner-up, followed by Sri Lanka's Madush Mayadunne.
Dominican Republic's Melody Mir Jimenez and Paraguay's Nicole Huber completed the top five.
Special awards were also given out during the pageant.
Ameeksha Dilchand from Mauritius was named Miss Friendship; Ekaterina Meglinskaia from Russia was Best Talent; and Nicole Velasquez from Honduras was Best in National Costume.
Last year's Miss International was Maria Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador.
