MANILA, Philippines - Local developers are putting a Pinoy touch on the Android Market by providing over over 70 apps, varying from news, mobile, entertainment, sports, travel, and translation for Filipinos and tourists alike.
Some of the locally produced apps for the Android Market include a slew of Filipino language tutorials such as Flashcards - Tagalog, which allows users to send problem words via e-mail or SMS; Learn Filipino Free WordPower, which helps users correct their pronunciation; and Tagalog Slang, which contains almost 650 total phrases in three categories: love and dating; comments and observations; and arguments.
There are also apps that are designed to help Filipinos and tourists travel through Metro Manila with ease such as the MRT-LRT Train Station Guide, which helps users locate stations and identify landmarks on each station; and TaxiMate Free, which uses the GPS antenna to track distance travelled by taxi in real-time.
There is also a Cebu City App that gives information on what to do and see, where to eat or shop, and plenty other travel tips while in Cebu.
