Pokwang plans to open a restaurant
MANILA, Philippines - Comedienne Pokwang wants to join the growing list of local celebrities who have ventured into the restaurant business.
Her first step? To send her only daughter to culinary school next year.
"[Gusto kong] mapatapos 'yung anak ko sa kanyang kursong culinary," she said in an interview on Monday's episode of "Kris TV".
"Pagkatapos noon ay magtatayo kami ng restaurant," she added.
Pokwang said her daughter, who is now in fourth year high school, took an entrance exam for admission to the Enderun Colleges, known for its culinary arts courses.
"Kaya nananawagan ako sa lahat ng raket," said the comedienne, realizing the high tuition rates of the said culinary school.
Several celebrities now own, co-own or operate restaurants, among them Jodi Sta. Maria, Marvin Agustin, Boy Abunda, and celebrity couple Ogie and Regine Alcasid.
Inspired by a chef
Pokwang's dream of opening her own restaurant is seen to be connected to her new "inspiration," a British chef.
While the comedienne maintained that they are only friends, Aquino teased Pokwang and revealed that he will be visiting her in January next year.
Pokwang admitted to ABS-CBNnews.com recently that she is seeing another man, more than a year after her breakup with her American boyfriend.
