The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer and environmental activist was initially set to perform at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, but decided to switch venues when he learned of the "earth-balling" controversy at SM Baguio early this year.
English singer-songwriter Elton John, meanwhile, is also in the country for his first concert here. He arrived Saturday from Taiwan via a private jet at around 4:00 p.m., according to a report published on news site Inquirer.net.
John -- who has sold over 250 million records over his four-decade career -- will perform on Saturday (December 8), also at the Big Dome, as part of the concert series "40th Anniversary of the Rocket Man."
