If you’re the type who wants to have a good time and loves the Brazilian culture, then the “hyperkinetic party” at Rockwell Power Plant Mall in Makati City tonight, Saturday, is perfect for you.
The event, named Feliz Natal, which will start at 6 p.m., will give Filipinos a chance to celebrate Christmas the Brazilian way.
Feliz Natal is the second in a series of celebrations called “Brasilipinas,” which aims to promote Brazilian culture through sports, cuisine, dance, music and motion.
“Brazilians are known for enjoying themselves and having a good time. That’s the only necessary ingredient and we’re bringing the rest for you. The public can enjoy and come to Rockwell,” performing artist Nyko Maca told “Mornings@ANC.”
Revelers will surely enjoy the party given the similarities between Filipino and Brazilian cultures.
“There’s really synergy between Brazilian and Filipino cultures, thus, the name Brasilipinas,” Maca said.
Aside from being tropical countries and both were colonized by a Catholic nation, Maca also pointed out that Filipinos and Brazilians love to live in a moment and both are passionate on things that they do.
Feliz Natal will feature the best of Brazilian cuisine and drinks and performances from Brazil enthusiasts in the Philippines.
Capoeiristas (martial arts, games and dance), samba dancers, futkalistas (street soccer), fire zippers (twirling strings with colorful ribbons) and percussionists will also be performing in the celebration.
