Donaire uplifts spirits of Filipino netizens
MANILA, Philippines – Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire lifted the spirits of Filipino netizens after scoring a stunning third-round technical knockout win over Mexico's Jorge Arce on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Donaire, who was fighting for the fourth time in 2012, thoroughly dominated the veteran Mexican boxer to retain his world super bantamweight title.
Immediately after the fight decision was announced, many Filipinos, including local television personalities, took to the microblogging site Twitter to express their delight that another Filipino made the country proud.
