MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino is expected to make a pitch for the administration’s bets in his speeches as a way of helping in the campaign, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Thursday.

“He will be involved in campaigning also for his candidates, administration candidates. So bulk of the messaging would be in the speeches that he would be delivering,” he said.

The Liberal Party (LP) coalition previously unveiled 12 candidates in its senatorial lineup for the May 2013 elections. The list includes 5 incumbent senators, 1 incumbent congressman, 4 former lawmakers, a Cabinet official and the President's own cousin.

The 12 are: Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Sen. Loren Legarda, Sen. Koko Pimentel, Aurora Rep. Sonny Angara, former congresswoman Risa Hontiveros, former senators Jun Magsaysay and Jamby Madrigal, former MTRCB chairwoman Grace Poe Llamanzares, former congresswoman Cynthia Villar and Bam Aquino.
