Cousin: Richard Brodett is a drug pusher

A cousin of Richard Brodett, one of the so-called "Alabang Boys," on Wednesday supported allegations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) that Richard is pushing drugs.

The cousin, Anthony Brodett, said he used to take drugs with his cousin, who started the addictive habit when he was still 16 years old.

Anthony said his cousin's addiction and drug pushing started in 2003, with the consent of his mother, who was also allegedly a drug dependent.

"Pusher. At saka ito po, mismong ang nanay po alam ito... Pinaaakyat ho ng nanay iyan sa Sagada para kumuha ng marijuana," Anthony revealed during a televised congressional inquiry at the House of Representatives.

He said "business must be good for them (the other Brodetts)" because they were able to put up two buildings since Richard started pushing drugs.

Anthony also insinuated that the whole family of Richard knew his drug activities because "drugs were all over the place," referring to the Brodetts' home.

The cousin surfaced at the hearing with his father, Dave, who said they decided to come out to clear the Brodett name, which has been tainted because of the Alabang Boys' case.

Anthony told congressmen that he and his father are aware that their lives are now allegedly in danger because of their revelations.

Richard’s father and mother had denied reports that they tried to bribe PDEA agents to free their son.

PDEA chief Dionisio Santiago had said that millions of pesos were offered by the Alabang Boys’ families for their release.
