Magnitude 4.9 quake hits Luzon

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Luzon on Tuesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

An earlier report by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) initially placed the quake's magnitude at 5.0 (Link to USGS report), while the Phivolcs initially reported that it was a magnitude 5.7.

The quake's epicenter was located 30 kilometers southeast of Olongapo City, at a depth of 98 km.

The quake struck at around 6:54 p.m., the Phivolcs added.

Manila - 4
Quezon City - 3
Pasay - 4
Makati - 4
Cavite - 2
Plaridel, Bulacan - 2
Pasig - 3

No damage to property or casualties have been reported.
