Noynoy won't recognize GMA's replacement for CJ Puno
MANILA, Philippines - Presidential frontrunner Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has vowed not to recognize a new Supreme Court chief justice who may be appointed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo before her term expires on June 30, 2010.
"If elected President, I will not recognize a Chief Justice appointed by the outgoing President,” said the Liberal Party standard-bearer.
Aquino said a possible appointment by Arroyo would be “contrary to the constitutional ban on appointments during the wee hours of her presidency, and contrary to propriety and delicadeza and long standing precedence of prohibition against appointments two months before the outgoing president's term expires.”
Puno is set to retire on May 17, a week after the synchronized national and local elections. Legal experts say an appointment of a new chief justice would violate the constitutional ban on appointments during the election period.
Aquino also warned members of the Supreme Court (SC) not to accept an appointment as head of the judicial branch of government from the outgoing chief executive.
“Let me forewarn any member of the Supreme Court who shall accept to be Chief Justice by appointment of the outgoing President, that not only shall he not be recognized, but he risks even his presence in the Court as an associate member," said Aquino.
Aquino still has a double-digit lead in the December 27-28 Social Weather Stations (SWS), although second-placer, Nacionalista Party presidential bet Senator Manny Villar, has narrowed the gap from 19 percentage points in the December 5-10, 2009 survey to 11 percentage points in the latest survey.

Naghahamon kayo ng respect? bakit sa palagay niyo yang ginawa ni Arroyo na paglagay ng kanyang mga alimpores sa SC is a sign of respect? how dare you mga kapatid? kung umasta kayo parang alam na alam niyo ang batas? sinasakyan niyo lang bawat comments ng iba at bawat isyo dito pero sa totoo lang hindi niyo makuha kuha kung ano ang totoong nangyari sa paligid niyo? bakit sa tuwing may comments si Noy akala niyo lahat mali at ang iniisip niyo ay tama? subukan niyo kaya maging Noy o maging Gloria? ang tanungin niyo ngayon saan iyong mga magaling na Presidentiable like Villar at Gibo kung ano ang stand nila sa isyong ito in which it is clearly an abuse of our Philippine Constitution right?....

Where are the Others
Yes all presidentiables must now state stand up if they will recognized or not GMA's Appointed Chief justice if ever she will be tempted to cross the unthinkable illegal act. They should not hide in GMA's skirt or wait for a SWS Survey what the view of the voters on said topic.

Tama si Noynoy, kung manalo
Tama si Noynoy, kung manalo siya, may karapatan siyang hindi kilalanin ang illegal na appointee ni GMA. Ngunit dapat maghain muna siya ng pormal na reklamo sa korte na pawalang bisa ang appointment. Hangga't hindi nahuhusgahan ng korte na "null and void" o walang bisa ang appointment valid pa rin. Ang tanong, sino nga ba ang maghuhusga? Oo nga pala, muntik ko nang makalimutan, mga appointees din pala ni GMA. O ayan, sa akala ba ninyo kikilos yang si GMA nang hindi niya naisip ang kalalabasan?. Ano sa palagay nyo ang motibo ni GMA sa paglalagay niya sa pwesto ng mga tao niya - hindi upang magsilbi sa bayan, kundi upang sumabay sa mga kumpas ng kanyang mga senyas. Kaya mga kababayan, lutong makaw na iyan, at ang tanging sagot diyan ay labanan ang pangaapi sa bayan. O ano, kakasa ba kayo? Aba, eh, dito pinaghihiwalay ang may bayag at wala.

Chief Justice Appointment
Noynoy is correct in putting in advance to warn the JBC not to submit a list of nominees for the chief justice of supreme court which will be vacant on May 17, 2007. The list of nominees would either from within the current associate justices of supreme court or from outsiders. GMA is prohibited to do midnight appointments because of the May 10,2010 election , which mean that the JBC should submit the list of nominees to the incoming president and not to GMA.
Don't you trust the SC?
A president has the last decision in appointing a new SC Chief but that person has his/her own choice and can make decisions based on his/her professional ethics and standards in performing the duties and responsibilities set upon him/her. In short, nasa tao na yan kung dudungisan nya ang kanyang sariling reputation o ng Supreme Court which I doubt it based on its integrity and history. By the way, ayaw ba ng mga presidentiables na mag sworn-in if they ever win the election?
Why Noynoy?
Is it ethical and proper for a presidentiable to forewarn the supreme court, a co-equal branch? What does it say of the demeanor of a future president to say something as sensitive like that, touching on respect and capabilities of supposed to be respected and dignified judiciary? How can the ordinary citizen be capable of respecting these justices, if even the president doesn't know how to? Respect begets respect. Bayan kayo ang humusga! As if respect and dignity of the position doesn't matter anymore. How can we hope this nation to be great again if nobody respects nobody, where bullying and grandstanding is the norm of running the government of the people, by the people, for the people!
why only NOYNOY?
All presidentiables must now categorically state that a SC Chief Justice appointed by GMA won't be recognized by his govenrment. .this would perhaps put a reign on GMA's vehemence to fast track this appointment. .
