JPE playing favorites, should be replaced - Trillanes
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV believes Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile should be replaced because he's playing favorites among the senators.
Asked who should replace Enrile, Trillanes batted for Senators Manny Villar or Franklin Drilon.
Trillanes said he will know within 2 weeks if Enrile would be removed from his position.
Enrile recently drew controversy after admitting that he gave away more than P2.2 million in additional maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) budget to 18 senators.
However, 4 senators - Trillanes, Miriam Defensor Santiago, Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano - only received P600,000 in November and another P250,000 in December.
Santiago later returned the cash gift after Enrile also returned her gift of biscuits from Iloilo.
Enrile earlier said he decided not to give additional MOOE to Santiago because she does not support him. He said he did not give additional funds to the other 3 senators because they are members of the minority.
