Miriam's blood vessel in eye bursts after talking about JPE
MANILA - Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago suffered from hypertension on Wednesday, causing blood vessels in her right eye to burst.
A registered nurse working for Santiago, Elsie Gayo, said the senator’s blood pressure rose to 190/115.
Santiago got agitated when she appeared in ANC’s morning show Headstart on Wednesday where he accused Enrile of personally attacking her.
After the TV show, when Santiago stayed for photos with the TV staff, her right eye was already noticeably red, with red blood clots around the pupil.
During the interview, Santiago admitted that she has been absent in the Senate for long periods of time because of hypothyroidism, and later because of hypertension during the recent impeachment trial.
“It is below the belt to attack me on the basis of my ailments. That is unchristian and beyond the bounds of play,” she said.
