PCOS machine testing pushed back
MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is resetting the field testing and mock elections of precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines by a week.
Field testing was originally scheduled on January 19 and the mock elections on January 26, but Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes said they have reset these to January 26 and February 2, respectively.
Brillantes said this is to give more time from Systems Labs Inc. to finish the source code review of the PCOS.
Brillantes also wrote Dominion, the supplier of the PCOS software, to tell them to keep the Philippines out of its legal dispute with Smartmatic over the license of the PCOS software.
