Inside Jason Ivler's room: 'Scarface' poster, fake IDs
MANILA, Philippines - In the end, an airconditioner and a used towel gave the suspect away.
Jason Aguilar Ivler, the main suspect in the murder of a Palace official's son, was arrested Monday after eluding police for the past two months. Ironically, he was arrested in his own home at No. 23 Hillside Drive in Blue Ridge A Subdivision, Quezon City - the same place that the police raided twice in the past.
Atty. Julito Magno, head of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Special Action Unit, said they decided to go back to the house early Monday after receiving fresh information that the suspect was hiding there.
Ivler's mother, Marlene, was agitated when NBI agents and members of the ABS-CBN news crew arrived at the two-story home at 6 a.m. Saying that she had always cooperated with police in the past, she allowed several NBI agents to search Ivler's room.
She vaguely hinted that Ivler may already be in Hawaii after she received an e-mail from her son, informing her of his whereabouts.
In Ivler's room, NBI agents found dumb bells, gym bags, two silencers, several fake IDs with the name Roberto Santa Rosa, and bullets for a caliber .45 pistol. On the wall was a poster of Al Pacino's gangster movie "Scarface."
NBI agents also explored the house's other rooms including Aguilar's office, the master bedroom and even the outdoor swimming pool.
While the search was ongoing, Aguilar told the NBI that she had made many enemies after she wrote her novel "Warriors of Heaven."
Air-tight room
Magno, however, noticed during the search that the bathroom in Ivler's room seemed to have been used recently. "There were wet clothes and a wet towel, as if someone had just taken a bath," he said.
Further checks inside the house also showed an airconditioner that seemed to feed into a secret room on the ground floor right under the stairs.
"It was a room right under the stairs. It was used as a stockroom. The door was covered by paper mache mannequins. Nagtatago siya dun. When I noticed that he was there, I announced our presence and asked him to come out. Ang ginanti sa atin ay sunod-sunod na putok. That started the firefight," he said in a press conference in Malacañang.
Magno said one of Ivler's bullets grazed him on the thigh. Another NBI agent, Anna Lira Labao of the NBI Intelligence Service Division, was shot on the chest despite wearing a kevlar vest.
The NBI agent said Ivler shot at law enforcers for almost 10 minutes before being hit by responding fire. He said it was difficult to shoot at Ivler since the space under the stairs going into the room was very narrow.
Amid cries of "cease-fire!", the agents dragged the wounded Ivler outside the room and held him tight while he shouted: "Patayin niyo ako! (Kill me!)"
When the emergency trucks arrived, all three wounded - Ivler, Magno and Labao -- were brought onboard and rushed to the nearest hospital. -- With reports from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News, and David Dizon, abs-cbnNEWS.com

MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday released the results of the ballistic tests on the handgun used by Jason Aguilar Ivler in both the November 18 killing of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr. and during the shootout with NBI operatives last Monday.
The bullet taken from the body of Ebarle Jr., son of Palace official Renato Ebarle Sr., the bullets found and taken by police from the vehicle of Ebarle Jr. last November 18 , and the bullets found in the residence of Ivler's mother, Marlene Aguilar, in Blue Ridge, Quezon City matched with the test bullets from the Kimber .45 caliber pistol recovered from Ivler during the encounter last Monday with arresting NBI agents.
Ivler allegedly shot dead Ebarle Jr. following a traffic altercation near the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Ivler was shot and injured during Monday's encounter with NBI operatives. He is currently recuperating at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City. -- report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News

A bail of just 12,000 pesos for Marlene Aguilar is a embarrassment to the entire country. 2 NBI officials were shot because of what this woman did !! Not to mention all the taxpayers money that went into the search for this loser Ivler ! Check her out on Youtube several weeks ago lying with her crocodile tears for her son to give himself up. Then telling the authorities she had received an email from him saying he had left the Philippines and now was in Hawaii. All the while this idiot Ivler was hidden inside of her house !! Does anyone know the name of this Judge who gave the 12,000 peso bail ? Every Filipino world wide should be outraged at this injustice !! Call for the immediate dismissal for the Government officials responsible for allowing this criminal Marlene Aguilar to be free !!

You know she's a bit arrogant in my opinion, she seem to talk highly of herself? For a book author, I've never heard of her. I read a lot of books, in fact I've just finish reading the book "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell, a navy seal and lone survivor on Operating Redwing in Afghanistan in 2005. She has 4 bodyguards when she travels here in USA? She's a nobody, secret service doesn't provide securities for diplomats, that belong to the country where they came from. Her husband is not an ambassador but working for Asian Development Bank. I think she's imagining so many things, her imagination goes awry. Some filipinos has the habit of embellishing something to make them feel good, above others, which I find quite appalling.
The Philippine government should file a case against her AIDING AND ABETTING A FUGITIVE that is a serious crime, more serious than obstruction of justice. What she had done was putting at risk lives of NBI agents. In other words, Marlene Aguilar Pollard is an accomplice.
I don't know what's the law in Philippines, but here in USA, the sentence is severe and usually NON-BAILABLE, that is FELONY.

Since Ivler is a US Citizen, I do hope the US embassy does not meddle with the issue like Daniel Smith's rape case. The government should expedite the case of Ivler and her mother. This will be another black eye for the Philippines government if Ivler will be able to walk awsy from everything that he has done together with his mom.

The Loser Marlene Aguilar
I met Marlene Aguliar several months ago before her son murdered this innocent man. At that time she was a very snobbish arrogant and self absorbed. More then anything she wants to feel important. She justs boasts and boasts about her education in the usa. How she knows so many international officials, How she needed 4 body guards when she travels to the USA. This woman is nothing short of a compulsive liar. She wants everyone to think she is so important when in reality she is a nobody and always has been. Other then being a criminal nobody in the Philippines or the USA knows who she is at all. During the investigation she told the police she made a lot of enemies with her books.That is yet another lie by her. Nobody knows anything about her stupid books. Once again she is trying to make everyone believe she is important. Talking with her she tries to make you believe she is such a international icon. During my discussions with her I caught her lying several times about her false credentials. This sorry excuse for a woman believes all Filipinos are very stupid and below her. From reading the story of how her son was caught it turned out to be her own stupidity was the reason for his capture. If I`m interpreting the news correctly this fool Marlene was trying to let the NBI know she was educated in the USA and had written a few stupid books. Again, this is where she thinks she is so above everybody else she could deter the NBI from thier investigation. WHAT A COMPLETE IDIOT !! I hope the law comes down hard on both her and her son. Her bail is just 12,000 ? With a bail that low what makes the NBI think that she isnt going to go into hiding as well ? She is responsible for 2 NBI officials getting shot and nearly killed. She is responsible for all the money the NBI wasted in order to search for her idiotic son. She is responsible for the jailing of the innocent OFW. Her bail should be at least the same amount of the costs for all of those things combined !!! Her son learned to be a criminal and a ill of society because of his mother.
