MANILA - Justice Secretary Leila de Lima dismissed the “toy truck” used by Senator Bong Revilla as a symbolism that he supposedly has nothing to do with the pork barrel scam.

De Lima told reporters on Monday, “I don’t think we need to take that seriously…We had boxes and boxes of evidence.”

She said Revilla is just trying to underestimate the work probers have put into the investigation.

“He just wants to insult us. I don’t know why he’s doing it,” she said. No less than the field investigators of the Office of the Ombudsman proved he was connected to the scam, she said.

During his privilege speech, Revilla showed a toy truck stacked with some documents, which, he said, symbolized the "truckload of evidence" prepared against him and fellow senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada.

De Lima, however, said their case against Revilla is strong.

“We will not file the case if it’s not strong.”

She also stood by the credibility of Benhur Luy as a witness against Revilla.
