Tupas to prioritize GMA furlough plea
MANILA - House Justice Committee Chair Niel Tupas Jr. on Wednesday said his committee will prioritize a resolution to grant detained former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a furlough if ever it is filed.
Tupas said it will be a priority for the agenda of the committee.
1BAP party-list Rep. Silvestre Bello, who earlier sought a Christmas furlough for Arroyo, however, previously told ABS-CBN he has no plans to file for another furlough after the holidays for medical reasons.
Previously, the Arroyo camp had kept its distance from any calls for a furlough, preparing to focus instead on a pending motion for bail.
