MANILA, Philippines - Members of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) marched to Mendiola bridge in Manila on Saturday to mark the second month since the Maguindanao massacre.

The demonstrators tied a huge laso around the statue of Don Chino Roces to symbolize what they say is a continuing call for justice for the victims.

"Ang paglimot ay paglingap sa kawalan ng katarungan. Dapat hindi natin kalimutan kung ano ang nangyari nuong Maguindanao massacre, " said Vijae Alquisola, president of the CEGP.

Fifty-seven people, including at least 30 journalists, were killed along with several lawyers and members of the Mangudadatu clan in the country's worst election-related violence and the world's worst single attack against journalists.

In Mindanao, demonstrations were also held in different provinces to mark the second month since the Maguindanao massacre.

In Zamboanga City, activists lit candles at Plaza Pershing and displayed photos of the victims of the killings. They criticized the slow process of the justice system in resolving the mass killings.

Relatives of the massacre victims also visited their loved ones at the cemetery to commemorate the Maguindanao massacre.

In Cotabato City, white balloons were released as families of the victims appealed for swift justice.

In General Santos City, meanwhile, various organizations, members of the media and families of those who were massacred held a caravan towards the cemetery where some of the victims were buried.

Justice Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor attended the event and assured the families that all efforts are being exerted to find justice for the victims.

Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzales and Presidential Adviser on Mindanao Affairs Jesus Dureza also visited the families and handed them P10,000 pesos each for assistance.

Several family members, media groups and other organizations from Davao, General Santos City, and Cotabato City went to Ampatuan town in Maguindanao to light candles at the massacre site. -- reports from Cecille Lardizabal, ABS-CBN News; ANC; ABS-CBN Regional News Bureaus
