MANILA, Philippines - Marlene Aguilar said Saturday that she is not insane or crazy for bringing up issues like espionage in defending her son, road rage killing suspect Jason Ivler.

"We are genius[es], borderline insanity. My intelligence is way above most people. Does that make me insane?" Aguilar told radio dzMM's news anchors Julius Babao and Tintin Bersola-Babao when asked to react to some listeners' messages that she must be crazy.

Aguilar earlier claimed that her enemies, who are " some of the most powerful military men in America,” framed her son, Ivler, to the road rage killing of the only son and namesake of Presidential deputy chief of staff Renato Ebarle Sr. last November 18.

Aguilar had claimed that her enemies could have used her former bodyguard, Mark Hauser, allegedly a former British military personnel, to frame Ivler.

She said the British bodyguard, who almost looks like Ivler, had access to her house, her son’s guns, room and her current husband’s car.

“I said it’s possible that they framed my son. This is not the first time they framed my son. I feel that my British bodyguard set me up,” Aguilar said.

She added: “I wrote a book exposing the twin towers [attack] is an inside job. I exposed that Nazi-Germany was funded by American businessmen. If American businessmen funded Nazi-Germany, who bombed Pearl Harbor?”

Aguilar said that the same people, whose evil deeds she exposed in her book “Warriors in Heaven,” could have been the same people who are trying to hurt her loved ones.

“Ang masakit lang po hindi ako sinasaktan. Ang sinasaktan ho nila ang mga tao sa paligid ko (What’s sad is they are not hurting me. They are harming people around me).”

She said that days before she launched her book “Warriors in Heaven” at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in November, Americans abducted her friend and told her, “If you do not deliver to us the person we want, we will obliterate the people of Mindanao.”

“Three days before my book launching in CCP, a massacre happened in Mindanao,” Aguilar said, referring to the massacre of 57 people in Maguindanao province last November 23.

Ivler’s mother also told reporters that she had met the massacre’s prime suspect, Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr., while she was in detention at the National Bureau of Investigation.

She said she thinks Ampatuan Jr. is friendly and kind.

It runs in the blood

Aguilar said during the interview that just like her, her younger son, Colby, is also a genius.

She also described Ivler as “one of the best soldiers of America.”

She said that the principal of the high school where Colby used to go to had told her that at the age of 13, her son should not be in high school anymore.

Aguilar said she was forced to pluck Colby out of  high school and wait for him to come at the right age to enter college.

“He had no formal [high school] education. He was advanced to the University of Nevada in 3 courses. He is No. 1 in his batch of cinematography,” she said. “Maybe that is why ordinary people can’t understand us because our level of intelligence is way above compared to other people.”

She said that her 2 sons were both working students.

Aguilar said Ivler is one of the best US soldiers. She said her son was allegedly able to survive over 50 “classified missions” in the terrorist-laden country.

Not aware Jason was in Blue Ridge

Aguilar swore that she was not aware that Jason was inside her 1,000 square meter residence when nearly 40 NBI agents entered their compound in Blue Ridge village, Quezon City last January 18.

She implied that Ivler could have sneaked into her home, which he can easily do with his training with the US military.

“My house is 1,000 square meters. I cannot possibly see every square footage of my residence in 24 hours. Jason was a member of the special operations command of the US army,” she insisted.

A reader of abs-cbnNEWS.com, however, said Ivler served as an Infantryman (11 series) with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, with the rank of specialist (E-4). A year later, he was discharged under honorable conditions on Oct. 16, 2008.

Aguilar added that she was also surprised to see that Ivler was hiding in a supposedly “secret room” of her home, which had been likened by NBI agents to a labyrinth.

The NBI has filed a case of obstruction of justice against Aguilar for allegedly trying to hide her son.

She is out on bail.

Ivler, meanwhile, has been transferred to a normal room after recovering from gunshot wounds in the abdomen and right shoulder, which he sustained during a shootout with NBI agents inside Aguilar’s home.

Aside from the murder case for the Ebarle killing, the NBI said it will also file charges of attempted murder, frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms against Ivler.
