House delegation to observe GPH, MILF peace talks

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - The delegation of the House of Representatives set to observe the ongoing peace talks between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) arrived Saturday at the Palace of the Golden Horses in this city.

The delegation is composed of Rep. Hajiman Hataman-Saliman, Chair of the House Special Committee on Peace, Reunification and Unity; Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu from the 2nd District of Maguindanao; Rep. Teodoro Baguilat from the Lone District of Ifugao province; Rep. Jesus Sacdalan of North Cotabato; Rep. Lilia Macrohon-Nuno of the 2nd District of Zamboanga City; and Rep. Pangalian Balindong of the 2nd District of Lanao del Sur.

The delegation hails from the provinces that will be affected by the formation of the Bangsamoro, aside from Baguilat who is here to represent indigenous people.

Senator TG Guingona, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Peace, Unification and Reconciliation, arrived here in Kuala Lumpur on Friday and is also expected to arrive at the venue today.
