Senate ratifies K+12 bill
MANILA, Philippines – The Senate on Wednesday ratified Senate Bill 3286 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2012, which provides for the K+12 system.
The measure aims to enhance the country's basic education system by strengthening its curriculum and increasing the number of years of study.
An additional two years will be added after the four-year high school program. It will be called Senior High School.
Grade 11 will be introduced in SY 2016–2017 and Grade 12 in SY 2017–2018.
The first batch of high school students to go through K to 12 will graduate in March 2018, government says.
