Bianca to Aleli: Let's have peaceful burial for Iggy
LONDON - Bianca Arroyo wants a peaceful wake and burial for her late father Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio "Iggy" Arroyo, Jr.
Bianca issued a brief statement that was exclusively shared to ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau.
"Nakikiusap po ako na to stop muna ang gulo. Ilibing ko muna ang tatay ko, hindi man lang ako maka-iyak ng mahusay. Kasi I have to be strong for my family and for myself," she said.
Her statement was an indirect appeal to Iggy's legal wife Aleli Arroyo, who threatened to file charges against Grace Ibuna, his common-law wife, for allegedly giving the go-signal to pull the plug on the solon.
Iggy's remains are scheduled to be repatriated to Manila late this week.
Bianca is the eldest daughter of Iggy with his first wife Marilyn Jacinto, sister of Pinoy rock icon Ramon "RJ" Jacinto.
The sudden death of her father was a big shock to Bianca, who considers herself as a Daddy's girl.
Bianca said her father taught her to be tough and strong.
Bianca declined to divulge specific plans for the funeral and the repatriation of her father's body. She was also evasive on some controversial issues.
At the same time, Ibuna faced the camera for the first time but declined to be interviewed. Her daughter, Garie Concepcion, was there to lend moral support.
Ibuna was advised by her doctors to eat and get some sleep as she was diagnosed to be close to a nervous breakdown. - Reporting by Danny Buenafe and Jomel Gutierrez, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
