Still no replacement for NDRRMC's Ramos
MANILA, Philippines - National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Executive Director Benito Ramos cannot leave his post until President Aquino has named his replacement, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said Friday.
Valte said President has not yet chosen a replacement for Ramos.
Ramos tendered his resignation first week of January to have time to attend to his wife who is suffering from diabetes.
Retired Army Major General Eduardo del Rosario, whose last assignment was Chief of Task Force Kalihim that handled search and retrieval operations for the late Secretary Jesse Robredo, is a candidate for the position that will be vacated by Ramos.
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said del Rosario is now an understudy for the post of NDRRMC chief.
