Villar ally claims Aquino to lose more ground
MANILA, Philippines - A close ally of Sen. Manny Villar claimed that the Nacionalista Party (NP) standard-bearer’s chief rival Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III will lose more ground in the next presidential surveys.
Cavite 3rd district Rep Jesus Crispin Remulla said Aquino will lose more support as people get to know him and his stand on various issues.
He noted Aquino already lost some ground even before the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) alleged overpricing controversy was fully investigated. He thinks the controversy may cost Aquino 2 to 3 percentage points more.
Aquino still leads in the latest presidential survey, but Villar has narrowed the gap. In the latest Pulse Asia survey, the 2 are statistically tied.
The results of the latest Pulse Asia survey, conducted last January 22-26 and released Wednesday, showed Aquino getting 37% of voter preferences and Villar with 35% among the survey’s 1,800 respondents.
Aquino's lead over Villar was 19 percentage points in December 5-10 and 11 percentage points in December 27-28.
Before the filing of candidacy papers toward the end of November, Aquino's lead over the rest of the aspirants was more than 20 percentage points. He had a 27 percentage-point lead over Villar (Aquino 47%; Villar 20%) in the November 4-8 survey of SWS.
“Windfall”
Remulla alleged that Aquino used his influence so his family-controlled Hacienda Luisita will get a windfall from right-of-way payments in connection with Aquino properties where the SCTEx passes.
Remulla, however, conceded that there may not be enough proof to file and secure a conviction against Aquino, stressing that his beef with Aquino over the issue is less legal and more a moral question.
Remulla said Aquino has no business campaigning on an anti-corruption platform since he did not stop his family from benefiting from the project.
The Aquino camp has stressed that Aquino had no participation at all in any of the transactions on the SCTEx unlike Villar's acts in connection with the C-5 road project.

It's quite obvious from the comment from the villar supporter nga you will take any measure to win, so you can gloat despite if the facts hasn't really present itself yet, lol. Which bring me to believed that you guys are setting yourself up for disappointment. So by all means, please continue to disenfranchise us as nation. Your master agenda require it so, in which is what his platform is all about, right? no?
