MANILA - The Supreme Court (SC) has created a committee to review the compliance of its officers and employees and that of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) with the proper filing of their Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).

This is pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules Implementing the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

In a 4-page en banc resolution, the high court ordered the formation of a Review and Compliance Committee for the purpose.

Clerk of Court Enriqueta Vidal has been designated as the committee's chairperson, with its members: Attys. Eden Candelaria and Caridad Pabello.

“The main task of the [committee] is to evaluate the SALN forms submitted by the employees, to determine whether it was submitted on time; accomplished completely; and in proper form,” the resolution read.

Former Chief Justice Renato Corona was ousted from office last year for failure to declare all his assets in his SALN.
