Team PNoy not afraid of UNA rally in Cebu
MANILA - Team PNoy is not bothered by the United Nationalist Alliance’s (UNA) decision to hold its proclamation rally in vote-rich Cebu, and reiterated that a 12-0 win for its candidates is achievable.
"Practically all provinces are up for grabs. We will just see who has the better strategy in trying to pull more voters into their [respective] teams.
The administration coalition considers as “battleground” areas, provinces with more than a million votes, including Cebu, Cavite, Pangasinan, Laguna, Bulacan, and also islands such as Panay.
Miro Quimbo, another spokesperson, said people can identify with President Benigno Aquino’s platform of "daang matuwid." Aquino's endorsement can help push the winning performance of the senatorial candidates.
It's not because of his popularity but because of the clarity of his message,” he said.
He insisted a 12-0 sweep in the May elections is possible. This will become a reality if the campaign will dwell on issues, platforms, and also the track record of the President.
"Wala naman bawal mangarap. We want it to happen. We hope it will happen.
Asked why the President has to refer to so-called "pretenders" or "riders" in his speeches, Quimbo said Aquino only wants to emphasize a need for a Senate that will support the administration's measures and reforms.
"This is what I have done over the last there years. It is unfinished. There are many things that need to be done and I recognize that but to be able to finish that, I need to have a Senate that while critical is not obstructionist. - from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
