Palace hopes truth will come out when Tuason testifies
MANILA -- Malacañang is hoping the truth will come out when Ruby Tuason testifies in the Senate on the alleged pork barrel scam.
"Ninanais natin, ninanais ng mamamayan na matuklasan ang katotohanan sapagkat ang katotohanan ang magbibigay ng katarungan doon sa usaping ito," Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma said on Wednesday.
Tuason, who is one of the accused in the multi-billion pork barrel scam and the Malampaya Fund scam, will appear before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Thursday to shed more light on the issue.
In her affidavit, the former aide of ex-president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada admitted delivering pork barrel kickbacks to Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile from businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.
Estrada and Enrile are two of the respondents in the plunder and malversation complaints filed by the DOJ in connection with the pork barrel anomaly.
Both senators have denied any involvement in the scam. -- With report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
