MANILA, Philippines - Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda denied Monday a circulating text message that the Presidential Security Group has increased the frequency of its drills following developments related to the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
"I spoke to Colonel Chito Dizon. That's not true. It's not true na napapadalas ang camp drills," he said.
Lacierda said the Palace "has not heard any" attempt to destabilize the government.
"I believe that the sentiment of the people is very clear on this area, that impeachment is the constitutional process of removing a constitutional official," he said.
