MANILA, Philippines - House prosecutors on Wednesday asked the Senate impeachment court to summon the main attending physician of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The prosecution wants Dr. Juliet Gopez Cervantes to testify on the state of Mrs. Arroyo health after her cervical spine surgery. They also want her to bring the medical certificate attached to Mrs. Arroyo's petition to revoke the watch list order issued by the Department of Justice.

The request wants Cervantes in court on February 20.

In separate requests, the prosecution wants the impeachment court to also compel the appearance of Supreme Court process server Eric Borlongan and Christopher Dollente who served the High Court's decision on the restraining order against the watch list order.

The witnesses are being called in connection with Article 7 of the impeachment complaint accusing Corona of partiality in granting Mrs. Arroyo's request for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) "in order to give them an opportunity to escape prosecution and to frustrate the ends of justice."
